I also started reading in English . I'm really happy, I'm pretty much out and I intend to continue on this path by dedicating myself at first reading youth. So my reading VO for the month of February:

New again! I found another style of reading: manga. I confess that I liked. I'll get some new songs during my vacation:)

My opinion:
I was tired of waiting for the sequel to "The Wizard of vampire " Hachette ( not even release date for Volume 5 ... pfff ... ) of the sudden I've been tempted later in manga version!

I must say that I am very happy! I worried a little, the only manga I read is that of twilight, and he gave me terribly disappointed ...

It's been a little weird to see the characters with a any other head (especially after watching the movie "The Wizard of vampire" lol) but once gets into the story, I admit that it does not upset me more than that.
The story picks up where it left off in Volume 4 (finally stopped where Hachette). The transition between the novel and manga went very well, no downtime.
The history of this fifth volume is involved, we follow Darren through the trials imposed. But something will not happen as planned ...

is well drawn, the dialogue is intelligent without being heavy, it's not clutter (this I feared a little too).

The end is truly awful, in the sense that she finished a shot like that, and we want to run out and buy more lol.
Really, I am conquered by this manga and I intend to read more (and previous volumes to complete my collection).

Isaac Hayes - Soul Man

major artist of the 1970s, Isaac Hayes remains an iconic figure in soul music and rhythm 'n'blues. Orphan, it looks at a young age to music. Raised in North Memphis by his grandparents, he taught himself to play the organ, saxophone and piano, drawing much of the folk blues of Blind Lemon Jefferson as Hank Williams. The artist performs in several clubs in Memphis and is working with Floyd Newman, a member of the Mar-Keys, before signing in Stax Records. This alliance allows him to play along with Otis Redding and support many groups as a saxophonist. From the mid-1960s, he composed some songs with David Porter to success for the band Sam and Dave, including "Hold On I'm Comin 'or' Soul Man 'and recorded several albums in the process. His gold record 'Hot Buttered Soul', released in 1969, launching his show: bald, shirtless, fitted with glasses and black tights, the artist leads an orchestra of twenty musicians, singers accompanied by naked, skull shaved. It also triumph before a hundred thousand people in 1972, during the festival at Memorial Coliseum in Wattstax Los Angeles. Its popularity is growing when he received in 1971 an Oscar for the film 'Shaft', which he composed the soundtrack. The rest of his career remains less memorable. He recorded several duets with Dionne Warwick and Millie Jackson in 1977 before signing his true return in 1995 on 'Branded', an album hailed by critics. Also an actor, he appeared in movies, 'Hustle & Flow' and 'Truck Turner' and television, the series 'Stargate'. Multi-talented musician, Isaac Hayes scored his work by several generations before dying in 2008 at age 65.

His entourage discouraged to continue in this direction, but stubborn, he created in 1927 the 'Caddo', his production company and won his first success with the comedy "Everybody's Acting" by Marshall Neilan and 'Band of Brothers' Lewis Milestone. It starts in 1927 in making his first feature film, ' Hell' s Angels ', with Jean Harlow , which met with great critical and public success. In 1932 he produced 'Scarface', whose violence triggers the wrath of the censors and earned him a bad reputation to accentuate its connections with dozens of renowned actresses: Billie Dove, Ava Gardner, Katharine Hepburn. From the middle of annéesHoward Hugh devotes himself to his second passion, aviation, repeatedly beating speed records and in 1939 the company bought TWA. He did not abandon the film and directed his second feature film, 'The Banned' in 1943. is an author I like very much! So I decided to test this new series.

Eugenie is a powerful shaman. His job? Banish the creatures of the Shadowlands venture came home. One day, a Wil wants to hire him to find his baby sister Jasmine, who has been kidnapped in the Shadowlands. Once
Eugenie landed in the world of Fae, her life will be changed. She discovers many things about his past, and will fall prey to creatures of the Otherworld because of a prophecy (that idiot judge at first).

A little more about the characters ..
Eugenie is a strong heroine in her job, but she is struggling in his personal life. She is a woman rather lonely and not very comfortable with humans.
Eugenie became acquainted Kiyo, a kitsune ( Shapeshifter ) that will help and will not let indifferent.
I have hooked up with the character of Dorian , this king Fae (questionable practices lol). Behind his arrogance, we feel that he is hiding something deeper.
Other characters are equally important: the mind-servants of Eugenie. I loved the character Volusian: D

A word on writing .. The
pace of the narrative that is not bored for a moment. The story bounces quite often it is dynamic. The universe created by Richelle Mead original.
I found a few vulgar lines, but not anything very shocking, and it is really minimal. In fact, given the back cover, I expected a bad history of fantasy / bit-bed sprinkled with sex to excess, but no, this is not the case. Dorian and Kiyo are not confined to the description given, and not everything is a simple story of "creatures in search of Eugenie to copulate."

In conclusion, it is a reading that I really enjoyed . We are not in the same register as Vampire Academy, but it does not upset me at all. I am aware of being in the bit-bed (or fantasy) before reading, and not in a youth title.
This first volume is a success: it sets the scene, but presents a real story and leaves us hungry.
